Team Nutrition – Here you’ll find lesson, activities, posters, handouts, books, games and songs to teach kids about MyPlate and healthy eating.
Coloring pages and activity sheets are fun, easy and quick ways to reinforce healthy messages in and outside of the classroom. Consider using them as a part of a science or math lesson, as something students can do if they finish their work early, or send them home for parents to complete with their child. Involving parents and caregivers is a great way to communicate the importance of eating better and moving more and reinforce concepts that are being taught at school.
These coloring sheets provide a fun activity for children, while promoting the important goals of healthy eating and physical activity. Owen Orange, Pauline Pineapple, the Broccoli Brothers and other fruit and vegetables engage in physical activities such as running, jumping jacks and basketball. Doctor Owl, our wise health expert, teaches healthy tips through a fun quiz on each sheet.
Here are some of our favorite resources where you’ll find nutrition and physical activity themed coloring pages and activities:
Choose My Plate – Visit MyPlate Kid’s Place for kid-friendly games, activity sheets, videos, songs and exercise activities.
Engaging volunteers has a wide range of benefits. Volunteers can offer new perspectives and make a lasting impact and contribution through their knowledge base and support. Volunteers can provide an extra helping hand or a needed, valuable skill set. Who in your network has skills or interests that complement your needs? Brainstorm ways to engage individuals, organizations or businesses as volunteers to help.
